DIVISIONAL BREAK DOWN

Apponaug Girls Softball will once again be offering five divisions of play for the spring season in 2011.  A girl's league age is determined by their age as of January 1st of that coming season.

  •  The Instructional Division is for ages 5 and 6 and gives the players an interdiction to the game of softball. Players will either hit off a spring loaded pitching machine or a batting “t”.
  •  The Minor Division, ages 7 and 8, features spring loaded pitching machine for batters as well as limited stealing.
  • The Major Division is for ages 9 and 10 and features players pitching, stealing of all bases except home, 3 runs or 3 outs per half inning.
  • The Senior Division, ages  11 and 12, plays under  all rules of ASA/Pony fastpitch softball with the exception that only 5 runs may be scored in a half inning if 3 outs are not recorded.
  • Our Masters Division is for players aged 13-18 and contains many of the best high school players in the State of Rhode Island.

The Spring Season runs from early April until playoffs in early June.
