a) 1st game scheduled for April 20th. Opening ceremonies April 24th.
b) Senior division 11,12, 13. Masters 14-18.
c) Winter pitching clinic begins Friday December 4th.
d) 2010 forms being printed in preparation for spring registration. Possible mass email to go out to league members with registration attached.
2. Travel Team 2010
a) Each travel team must send in a roster with names and addresses before indoor practices begin for insurance purposes.
b) Pony tournaments are almost sold out. 14U division is the biggest.
c) Next travel meeting December 9th. Tournaments filling up fast, teams need to pick theirs.
3. Satus of Winslow Park
a) Meeting set up for December 22nd with Mr. Dillon, AGS, Helen Taylor, and WFF per request of Mr. Dillon. Plans for the fields.
4. New Business
a) Bylaws committee looking for possible help rewriting.
b) Possible 30 year celebration June 12th? Still working on ideas.

1.Spring Season
a) Dates for tryouts and clinic: March 20, 2010 @ Tolgate. 12-2pm clinic for minor and instructional. 2-6pm designated for 10’s, 12’s, and Masters. More definitive time slots will be posted on website.
b) Start of spring season: Season will run from April 19th- June 6th.
c) Opening Day: April 24th.
d) Cleanup Day: April 3rd.
e) Spring season playoffs: June 5 and 6 masters seniors and majors. June 12 and 13 minors.
f) In-person signups for spring: January 30th 9am-12pm @ Dick’s and Warwick Police Station.

a) Umpire fees and tournament fees will be increasing.

1.Overview of 2009
a) Numbers were up in all seasons. Spring 2009 was 3rd straight year that showed an increase in AGS member, topping out at 433 players.
b) League aiming for something special for 2010 as it is AGS’s 30th anniversary!
c) Successful travel season. Two state championships and one runner up, three other tournament championships. Eight travel teams including our 8U All Star team. 2010 will have a total of ten teams including an 18U team, our first ever.
d) Fall ball included teams statewide as well as a team from

a) League plans to be at current location for at least another year per recent phone conversations and updated information. Possibility of relocation to be Strawberry Field, property very close to where we are currently.
3. Board of Directors 2010
a) Current members will continue on for 2010 season. A few changes in titles and also a few new unfilled positions. We have a new member to the board, Stephen Miga, who will be the Instructional/Minor player representative. Welcome!
b) There are still vacancies. Anyone interested should contact Chuck McCaughey.
4. New business/open discussion
a) League will be updating bylaws. Jeff Caffrey will be on a committee to rewrite the bylaws.
c) First 2010 season AGS Board meeting November 5, 2009 at Winslow Park Field House at 7:00pm.
d) First 2010 travel meeting November 19, 2009 at Winslow Park Field House at 7:00pm.
e) RI has decided to move pitching rubbers back to 43’ and we will be implementing this change Spring 2010. Future discussion regarding what age/school year the masters division should start at.
f) Idea presented of the possibility of a league travel teams fundraiser. Possibly a pasta dinner? All travel teams would have the opportunity to participate.

c) Division Representatives are to look into who will be coaching again this season.

1. Updates
a) President McCaughey gave highlights from recent Pony and ASA meetings.
Pony has changed the birthdate cut-off. New date is as of Dec. 31st. Also, player uniform number has to be on the game line-up card.
ASA has new rule starting 2009- at least 1 coach per team has to be ACE coach certified. Certification obtained by taking an on-line test and paying a fee.
Regional changes: States and Regionals are now open to anyone. 4 game guarantee. RI hosting 12’s and 14’s.
2. Travel Teams
a) Discussion about 2009 travel tournaments and which tournaments might be possibilities outside of the ones hosted by AGS. Travel coaches chose their indoor practice times.
.3. Recreational Season Team Sponsors and Signage Sponsors
a) Discussion about sending sponsorship letters and contacting supporting businesses earlier than last year.
4. Spring Rec. Fees
a) AGS Board of Directors voted to raise the cost of Spring Rec. to $70 per player. Family fee will be $120. These fees are applicable to the major and master divisions. The minors and instructional divisions will remain at $50 a player. Decision to make fees non-refundable once the season begins was agreed upon.
5. Spring Sign-ups
a) Reiterated that Spring Sign-up dates are January 24th at both Dick’s Sporting Goods and the Warwick Police Station and February 28th at those same locations. AGS BOD voted to purchase a printer in preparation for sign-ups.

1. State of the League
a) Airport Expansion: No change, 5 years from now possible start, may take field #1 but will be replaced
b) Financial: General update provided. Approximately $4,000 in general fund and $20,000 in other funds
c) Enrollment: numbers are up. 2008 had highest enrollment since the league went fastpitch. 10U enrollment strong during rec. season, concern over interest level in 10U travel. 2009 10U travel TBD.
2. 2009 Season
a) Pick dates for in person sign-ups: Dates were decided upon and are to be posted on the AGS website. Two potential locations for signups. Dates are set for Saturday January24th and Saturday February 28th. Tentative locations are Warwick Police Station and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Final dates with correct locations to be posted on AGS website. Plans to send out a mass email stating dates for signups.
Pick dates for Spring try-outs: Winman is currently unavailable, John Henry making arrangements for clinic and tryout. Potential dates discussed would be either March 14th or March 21st. Settled on date for opening day- April 25th. Spring games to begin April 20th. Cleanup Day set for April 14th.
3. 2009 Travel Season
a) Use of our fields by Thunder for a Showcase Tournament: Request by Thunder to be denied based upon board member votes.
b) How big do we want our tournaments: Looking to keep the number of teams in the older divisions to 24 in total based on the fields at Winslow Park. Possible to have 6 more with younger teams playing on the small field.
c) Winter practices, pitcher and catcher clinics: Pitching clinics to begin Friday December 5th from 8:15-9:45pm in small gym at Warwick Vets. Winter practices set to begin Saturday January 3rd and Sunday January 4th at Tolgate. Available times are Saturday 1:30-4:30pm and Sunday 8am-12:30pm. CCRI is available Sunday from 6-8pm.
